Kathleen Bliss Goldfarb, ASID has been an interior designer in Cleveland, Ohio for over 30 years. A consummate, respected professional, she is constantly developing creative, unconventional and unique solutions for every challenge, while maintaining the timeless appeal for which she has become known. With solid product and performance knowledge, Kathy makes innovative use of the best and environmentally responsible materials everywhere possible.
Gleaned from years of experience, Kathy has deep insight from working with a diverse base of clients in a variety of industries. Project experience includes work for the financial, corporate, institutional, hospitality and residential markets. Recently she has expanded her scope of services through extensive training and experience specific to kitchen design and remodeling, as well as several emerging design fields. These include the application and integration of lighting, security, distributed audio/video, home entertainment systems, energy management, computer networking and automation control technologies from the very basic to the most sophisticated requirements.
Kathy is committed to staying in the forefront of the interiors business by providing sustainable products and information about green building practices and design options to her clients and audiences. As many more environmentally responsible materials move from the cutting edge toward the mainstream, she is attuned to all aspects of our planet's preservation and healthy lifestyles.
Kathy has participated in every phase of the design process, from client development, master planning, budget development and programming to design conceptualization, finishes specification, furnishings assessment, drawing and bid preparation and the administrative decisions within a firm.
Kathy holds a B.S. in Interior Design from Miami University of Ohio. She has been a Professional Member of the American Society of Interior Designers and NCIDQ-certified since 1979, where she has served as a longtime elected member of the Board of Directors and as Chapter Secretary. She has been a recipient of the Presidential Citation and chaired most major committees for the Ohio North ASID Chapter, currently serving as Nominations committee chair.
Also active in the community, Kathy is a PTO member with the Kenston Schools and was involved with the Chagrin Valley Junior Women's Club for 10 years. She has worked closely with area college design students as their liaison with the American Society of Interior Designers and is invited as a frequent guest presenter to civic and student audiences speaking about many of her design specialties.
